Generally very positive.
Car is stable and reliable.
Driving-dynamics absolute well proportioned to the power, and it is much better balanced than i.e "traditional" Porsches with rear-engine, making it an easy task to "beat" i.e. 911's in a racing-track with many curves, even if the 944 is under-powered in comparision.
Suitable also for high-speed long-distance travels due to litte noise from engine and wind, stable high-speed dynamics, good torque from engine, comfortable seating. ( Main reason for having one !)
The frontal looks of the car is furthermore very suitably "menacing" when fast approaching high-way left-lane slowdrivers : they frantically get out of your way, IF they happen to look at the rear-mirror of course.

Mechanical problems encountered :
Flywheel located "magnets" ( for ignition sensors ) fly-off.
Weak Sunroof-mecanism ( retaining tab's break off)
Unreliable rear-hatch electrical switch
Dash-covering cracks by exposure to sun ( after to few years )
Transaxle rubber-mounting life-expectancy to short
Engine aut. valve tappets life expectancy to short, and very costly to exchange.
Rear wheel bearings can not take in the long run the fast curve driving this car calls for.
Spareparts are avilable, although some are excesively expensive.

A sadly and unjustly underrated car, curiously caused by other "real Porsche" drivers, read : of oldfashioned rear-engined Porsches !
